The Stark Differences Between Apple iCloud and MobileMe


Are you curious about the differences between the iCloud and MobileMe? After all, aren't they both cloud services?

Apple iCloud completely revamps the service and offers many more features. For one 5 GB of free cloud storage is available for every IOS account with IOS 5. Unlike MobileMe iCloud has a free version where you get 5 GB of space. Google also will be coming out with its cloud service eventually(Google Music is already in beta) and it should be interesting to see how customers react to that and whether people prefer Google's service over Apple's service. Google Music is already an impressive service and it syncs with all Android devices.


Apple's MobileMe is a cloud service created to allow end users to sync all their important data - your e-mail, contacts, calendars, and bookmarks with multiple devices. Mobileme iPad How to sync your iPad with MobileMe

1. To open the settings screen, Touch "Settings" on the Home Screen.
2. Touch "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". The" Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen" opens.
3. Touch "Add Account". 4. Touch "MobileMe". 6. Touch the Address text box, and enter your MobileMe e-mail address.
7. Touch the Password text box, and enter your MobileMe password.
8. Touch Next. Your iPad will now verify your account with MobileMe.
10. To use push contacts, Touch the Contacts switch to On and then Touch "Sync".
11. To use push calendars, Touch the Calendars switch to On and then Touch "Sync".
13. Touch Save. Your iPad returns you to the Mail settings screen with your MobileMe account added to the Accounts list.

The iPad can automatically sync your data and this feature is called "push." 1. Touch "Settings" on the Home Screen.
2. Touch "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
3. Touch "Fetch New Data". Your iPad displays the Fetch New Data screen.
4. Touch the Push switch to "On." If you want MobileMe data sent to you automatically.
5. If your iPad includes applications that don't support push or your turn push "off."
